Fire Ants
Brownish-red in color, fire ants tend to move in large numbers towards any threats. This species will sting their victims, injecting their venom, working together as a cohesive unit.
Big Headed Ants
Big headed ants are divided into two categories of workers, major and minor. The color of their bodies will depend on their job in the colony. Ranging from a dark reddish brown to yellow, this species of ant can be found traveling along walkways and on trees.
Pharaoh Ants
Pharaoh ants tend to be difficult to control as they prefer to nest inside structures and live in large colonies. They are able to form new groups quickly and are extremely small only about 1/16th of an inch in length. These ants are brownish yellow in color with their abdomens appearing a bit darker.
Pavement Ants
Homes containing stone or concrete foundations may find pavement ants to be a bit troublesome as they often nest in these places. Pavement ants are black to brown in appearance and are covered in parallel lines.
Argentine Ants
Argentine ants can be mainly identified by the odor they produce. They are brown to black in color and have shiny bodies. Living in large colonies, this species can be found in homes when the weather outside is a less than desirable environment.
